Blooming beautiful since the late 1800s, our State Heritage-listed Queens Park has kept all the charm and character typical of 19th century parks.
Spanning 25 gorgeous hectares, its large canopies of stately trees and acres of expansive green lawns are something to behold. The park boasts an all-abilities playground, perfect picnic spots, and sporting ovals that make this a poppy-ular destination year-round (see what we did there?)
An off-leash area keeps dogs and their pawrents busy, with plenty of space to explore. For our fitness enthusiasts, sealed walking tracks and bicycle paths wind through the leafy surrounds – a truly tree-mendous way to get your exercise fix!
The Botanic Gardens are located within a colourful corner of Queens Park and put on a spectacular show each year for Toowoomba Carnival of Flowers. This is where the magic happens! Our most popular attractions, of course, are the feature floral displays with thousands of bloomin’ marvellous flowers! The spring displays are meticulously planned, planted and nurtured, bursting into a riot of colour for Carnival. You’ll find a huge variety of annuals on display, from pansies, parsley and petunias, to dahlias, delphiniums and Dutch iris. In fact, there’s 50,000 seedlings and bulbs planted here for these floral displays each year.
The Botanic Gardens are a hive of activity during Carnival – you’ll find a Carnival Info Hub here with visitor information, programs, merchandise and maps, a Ferris Wheel (brought in especially for Carnival!), food trucks and free musical performances with our People First Bank Parkland Entertainment program.
