Step into the magical twilight hours and discover the hidden secrets of Laurel Bank Park after dark! This enchanting one-hour nocturnal adventure reveals a completely different side to the beloved park, where shadows dance and night-blooming mysteries unfold.

Join our expert guides as they illuminate the fascinating world of our international tree collection, from majestic English and Spanish oaks to ancient Gingko trees and delicate Japanese maples. Under the cover of darkness, you’ll uncover the stories of exotic species from around the globe and discover the botanical secrets of this picture-perfect spot. This isn’t just a walk in the park – it’s an illuminating journey into the mysterious night shift of nature.

Twilight Tours will be running 5.30pm – 6.30pm every Tue – Sat during Carnival:
Fri 18 – Sat 19 Sept
Tue 22 – Sat 26 Sept
Tue 29 Sept – Sat 5 Oct

Check in for your tour at the Laurel Bank Park Info Hub (near the car park off Hill Street)

Remember to wear comfortable walking shoes and perhaps a light jacket as the evening cools.

Tickets cost $15 per person, and bookings are essential!

Companion Card holders can purchase a ticket and present it with your Companion Card to the tour guide so you companion can enjoy complimentary entry.

Your guides are the dedicated Toowoomba Regional Council gardeners who nurture Laurel Bank Park daily, bringing insider knowledge and years of hands-on experience to share the park’s best-kept secrets.

Laurel Bank Park offers accessible parking, wheelchair access and an accessible bathroom. Please note that the event is hosted outdoors on paved, grassed and uneven surfaces.
Parking available on Hill St, Herries St and a short walking distance from Grand Central Shopping Centre car parks.
Toilets and accessible toilet available in the park

Refunds
All tickets are non-refundable.

Cancellation (by TCOF)
In the event of cancellation by Toowoomba Carnival of Flowers (such as extreme weather event), refunds will be processed via the ticketing provider.

Exchanges
Guests can exchange their tickets for alternate tour dates up to 7 days prior to departure via their Ticketbooth online account. Due to tour staffing, exchanges cannot be facilitated within 7 days of departure. Guests may choose to exchange their Twilight Tour tickets to attend Behind the Blooms tours in Queens Park Botanic Gardens.

Resale
Toowoomba Carnival of Flowers (TCOF) and Ticketbooth recommend the use of Tixel, a reputable online ticket resale platform. To list unwanted tickets for sale, visit tixel.com.au. TCOF does not recommend the use of online marketplaces to sell unwanted tickets.

In the event that you sell or gift your ticket to another without using the resale facility, please be sure you/they notify info@tcof.com.au to inform tour staff of the ticketholders name.

Cancellation (by attendee)
In the event that you are unable to attend due to illness or unexpected circumstances, no refund will be issued. TCOF encourage the use of resale or exchange facilities. Please note that this is an all-weather event.

What are the Twilight Tours?

Our Twilight Tours are a one-hour tour of Laurel Bank Park hosted by Toowoomba Regional Council gardeners. You’ll tour the park during the twilight hours and learn about the gardens, Carnival plantings and even some tips for your home garden!

When do the tours run?

Twilight Tours run every Tuesday to Saturday during Carnival, starting Friday 12 September. Each tour runs from 5.30pm to 6.30pm.

Where do I meet for the tour?

Check in for you tour at the Info Hub (near the Hill Street park entrance) at 5.30pm sharp. Your tour guide will meet you here.

How much do tickets cost?

Tickets are $15 per person and bookings are essential!

Do you accept Companion Cards for this event?

Yes! Companion Card holders can purchase a ticket and present it with your Companion Card to the tour guide so your companion can enjoy complimentary entry.

What will I see on the tour?

You'll explore the parks different plantings and international tree collection including majestic English and Spanish oaks, ancient Gingko trees and delicate Japanese maples. Your guide will share stories of exotic species and may even reveal some tips and tricks to achieve a Carnival style garden at home.

How long is the tour?

Each tour runs for one hour (5.30pm – 6.30pm).

Is this the same as a Behind the Blooms tour?

No. Twilight Tours take place in Laurel Bank Park and are hosted in the evening, focusing on the atmosphere of the gardens after dark, along with plant collections and Carnival displays. Behind the Blooms is a morning, behind‑the‑scenes experience held in Queens Park Botanic Gardens, offering insight into how the floral displays are planned, planted and maintained.

Do I need to book in advance?

Yes, bookings are essential. Tour capacity is limited to keep the experience personal and informative.

What should I wear or bring?

We recommend comfortable walking shoes and a light jacket as evenings can be cool. The tour takes place outdoors entirely within Laurel Bank Park.

What makes this different from visiting the park during the day?

This isn't just a walk in the park – it's an illuminating experience! The park atmosphere transforms in the evening hours, and you’ll discover a whole new side to the lovely Laurel Bank Park. Plus, your tour guide will host your journey throughout the park with plenty of information and insights.

What happens if it rains?

The tour goes ahead rain, hail or shine. Please dress appropriately for the weather and bring an umbrella or raincoat if rain is forecast.

Can children attend?

The tour is suitable for all ages, though children must be accompanied by an adult for the evening outdoor experience.

Can I bring my dog?

Yes, well-behaved dogs are welcome on the Twilight Tours as long as they remain leashed at all times. Please remember to pick up after your pets and ensure they don't disturb other tour participants or the park's plantings.

Does my ticket include anything else?

Your ticket includes a one‑hour hosted tour of Laurel Bank Park. Food and refreshments are not included.
