Day Tripping Doggos

A Petals & Pups Itinerary

Pack your pup’s favourite treats and hit the road for a delightful day exploring Toowoomba’s scenic surrounds. This leisurely itinerary combines garden wandering, country dining, and flower fields for the perfect dog-friendly escape.

MORNING GARDEN EXPLORATION

Start your day at Peacehaven Botanic Park (56 Kuhls Rd, Highfields) just north of Toowoomba. This hidden gem stretches over 4.7 hectares and welcomes leashed dogs to explore its winding paths, native gardens, and tranquil lake. Sprawling green lawns and stunning views towards the Bunya Mountains make this an exceptional picnic spot if you have time.

BRUNCH BREAK

Head to Relish (1/10498 New England Hwy, Highfields) where you and your four-legged friend can enjoy a relaxing outdoor brunch. Fresh, local ingredients feature in the meals here and there’s a great selection of house baked goods. All day breakfast is always a winner in our books!

BLOOMS AND VIEWS

Next, make your way to Lilyvale Flower Farm (108 Heiligs Rd, Lilyvale) where leashed dogs are welcome to join you as you wander through the seasonal flower fields. The farm’s open spaces and country views make for great photo opportunities with your pup. Check their social media for what’s blooming before your visit, and whether they’re running any “pick your own” events.

WINE AND DINE

End your day at historic Rosalie House Cellar Door Restaurant (135 Lavenders Rd, Lilyvale). Their dog-friendly outdoor area offers beautiful views across the countryside and lush lawn – the perfect spot to enjoy their regional wine and seasonal menu while your well-behaved pup relaxes at your feet.

DAY TRIP TIPS

  • Pack water, treats, and poop bags
