A perfect pup-friendly morning in Toowoomba combining great food, gorgeous gardens, and plenty of tail-wagging fun. This leisurely itinerary takes you and your four-legged friend from a charming café breakfast through beautiful botanical gardens to a delightfully modern florist, with plenty of human treats and doggy delights along the way.
CAFE CHARM
Grab a seat at quaint café 95 Mary Street (95 Mary St) for breakfast. Customers rave about the excellent coffee, chef-prepared meals and tempting cake cabinet here. Set in one of East Toowoomba’s tree-lined streets, the white picket fence and flower-filled planter boxes make this spot oh-so-cute
UP THE GARDEN PATH
Once you’ve had your fill of caffeine and eats, take a stroll through Queens Park Botanic Gardens (Lindsay St) – an enjoyable seven-minute walk away. The park is particularly lovely for morning walks, and doggies will find plenty to sniff along the way. You’ll find garden beds filled with brightly flowering annuals in the Botanic Gardens most of the year (of course they’re most sensational during spring), and various pathways winding through towering trees, cycads, camellias and palms.
PUPPY PLAYTIME
Let your pooch run off any excess energy at the off-leash dog area adjacent to the Botanic Gardens. New puppy pals are readily made under the leafy canopy of Queens Park (and you’ll have some time to digest your breakfast).
FLORAL FINALE
Drive to your final stop – Ruby Lane Flower Co. (60 Russell St) to pick up a “posy of the day”, and another coffee if you haven’t hit your caffeine sweet spot yet. Dogs are welcome in store and often score a free treat! They can even enjoy a puppacino before you browse; you’ll find beautiful blooms alongside a small range of luxe gifts (think candles, bath products and all sorts of yummy things). A whimsical ending to your breakfast and blooms itinerary!
