EVent Description

Pack a picnic and step into one of Toowoomba’s best-kept secrets. Boyce Gardens is a heritage-listed patch of paradise home to over 700 species of trees, shrubs, vines and ferns — including one of the last remaining tracts of native rainforest in the region. It’s a living, breathing classroom just waiting to be explored.

Join a guided tour led by experts from The University of Queensland across conservation, entomology, ecology and horticulture, with fascinating insights shared along the way. As you wander through the living collections, you’ll discover stories about native species, ecosystems and gardening practices that bring the landscape to life. It’s a relaxed, curiosity‑led experience where you naturally slow down and notice the details around you. Tours cost $20 per adult (flat rate – join one or join them all for the one price!)

Two seedpod painting workshops – one for adults and one for children – will provide participants with an opportunity to engage with nature more deeply while painting real Australian seedpods to take home. No art experience is required for this paid workshop.

Fuel up with hot and cold drinks, cookies and a breakfast BBQ available for purchase, and let live music set the pace as you explore at your own speed. Take your time and discover why Boyce Gardens is considered one of Toowoomba’s most remarkable — and most under-the-radar — natural treasures.

Purchase your tickets online – there are limited spaces available for tours and workshops. Boyce Gardens itself is free to explore.
