Step into The La De Da Rooms and take an armchair ride across Australia — without leaving Toowoomba. This stunning series of room installations, created from the artists’ residencies across the country, tells the flowering stories of each region through native flora, botanical pattern, fashion, ceramics, printmaking and art.
Each room heralds a significant local bloom — Lavender from Tasmania, Banksia from Woody Head, Sturt Desert Pea from Central Australia, Holly Grevillea from Kings Canyon, Billy Buttons from Broken Hill, Paper Daisy from Stanley and Silver Princess Gum Blossom from Mt Gipps Station — layering fresh, dried and faux blooms with artworks embellished in floral motifs to create an obliteration of colour, flora and pattern that’s as much an Insta moment as it is a genuine art experience.
Come in your best La De Da and wander through spaces that feel like living, breathing works of art. Exhibition entry is free.
