Got something blooming brilliant planned for Toowoomba Carnival of Flowers 2026? We want to hear about it! Apply to get your event in front of thousands of visitors and locals who are planning their Carnival adventure.

We all know a late bloomer, so we’re accepting applications for website event listings until 15 May!

Let’s be honest – our website is where the magic happens! With over 1 million page views each year, it’s our number one marketing tool and where most people find their Carnival info. It’s open 24/7, so visitors can research and plan their trips whenever the mood strikes (yes, even at 2am in their pyjamas)!

Who Can Apply?

It’s pretty straightforward! Your event needs to:

Happen during Carnival (18 Sept – 5 Oct 2026)
Be run by an organisation based in the Toowoomba Regional Council area
Take place within the Toowoomba Regional Council area
Be gambling-free
Have parking and toilets available (and ideally food too – nobody likes a hangry visitor!)

Event Categories & Fees

We offer different marketing categories to suit your event:

Floral Events

Not-for-profit organisations: $50 per event
Businesses: $150 per event

General Events

Not-for-profit organisations: $75 per event
Businesses: $200 per event

Tours (bus tours, walking tours – you name it!)

$250 per tour

Heads up: ALL tours (yep, even walking tours) go in the “Tours” category. Running multiple events or tours? You’ll need to submit a separate application for each one, with a fee for each.

What are the dates for Carnival 2026?

Friday 18 September – Monday 5 October 2026. All events must be held within this period.

When do applications open and close?

Applications open Friday 9 January 2026 and close at 5pm on Friday 20 February 2026.

We’ve extended applications for website only listings; these close at 5pm on Friday 15 May 2026.

My event isn't specifically about flowers – can I still apply?

Absolutely! We have categories for floral events, general events, and tours. As long as your event meets our basic criteria and happens during Carnival, you’re welcome to apply.

What exactly counts as a "Floral Event"?

A floral event has a significant focus on fresh flowers, plants, or floral displays, sales and interactions. These events are bursting with fresh floral features and are held specifically to complement Carnival. Your event must be held only during the Carnival period (not a recurring event throughout the year) and incorporate fresh flowers or live plants as a significant feature. Just holding your event in a park doesn’t automatically make it a floral event – there needs to be a genuine floral element!

What's the difference between where floral events and general events are promoted?

Floral events and tours get featured in both our website listings AND our printed program. General events are listed on our website (which is where most people find their info anyway – hello, 1 million page views!)

Do walking tours count as "tours"?

Yes! ALL tours, including walking tours, must be submitted in the “Tours” category.

We're running three different events/tours – do we need three separate applications?

Yep! Each event or tour needs its own application, and the fee applies to each one.

Our organisation runs events all year round, but we'd like to market our September event with Carnival. Can we?

For floral events, your event must be held specifically during the Carnival period and not be a recurring event throughout the year. General events can be held during Carnival even if you run similar events at other times. Tours need to have a significant focus on spring, flowers/plants, or Toowoomba gardens. My event is in Highfields/Crows Nest/Goombungee – is that okay?

As long as it’s within the Toowoomba Regional Council area, you’re good to go!

When will my event appear on the website?

Events will launch on the website on 23 April 2026. We’ll send you a proof to check before it goes live.

Late applications (submitted after 20 February) will be uploaded to the website on 1 July.

Can I update my event details after it's published?

You’ll get a maximum of two changes after your event goes live on the website.

We’re not able to make changes to the printed program once your listing has been confirmed.

That’s why it’s super important to make sure everything’s correct when you apply!

What if my booking link isn't ready when I apply?

Booking links must be supplied with all applications submitted after 20 February, or they will not be accepted.

I've never done this before and I'm not sure if my event is suitable. Can I talk to someone?

What if my application isn't accepted?

We’ll let you know and explain why. If you have questions about the decision, you’re welcome to give us a call to discuss it further.
