Queens Park is a sight for sore eyes year-round, but in spring it really blossoms into something special! Sprawling across 25 heritage-listed hectares, you’ll discover tree-lined avenues and lush green lawns, plus two playgrounds and an off-leash dog area that has tails wagging all over town.
For a true explosion of colour, make your way to the Botanic Gardens section where our spectacular feature displays come into full bloom during Carnival. With over 50,000 annuals and 5,000 bulbs, it’s a floral wonderland! You’ll find gardens full of your favourite flowers such as sweet peas, poppies and pansies, as well as some unexpected additions like parsley, ornamental kale and the weirdly wonderful rats tail statice. The plantings change every year, and the gardens grow and evolve during Carnival itself so visiting more than once is a treat!
During Toowoomba Carnival of Flowers you’ll find bunches of things to see and do in Queens Park Botanic Gardens, including Carnival Info Hubs, garden info stands, live music and food trucks. Check out the event listings for each of these to plan your trip.
Make sure you hop aboard the Ferris Wheel for a birds eye view of the gardens – it’s only here during Carnival!
Queens Park Botanic Gardens are open EVERY DAY and you can visit at ANY TIME. And petals, it’s FREE – we’re growing memories, not collecting fees!
