An often undiscovered gem, Boyce Gardens is a patch of paradise found minutes from the city centre and boasts a surprising variety of plant life.

This stunning site is named after Leslie and Margaret Boyce who established the garden in 1930. In May 1969, the Boyce family gave the estate to the University of Queensland in trust, for educational purposes and to preserve and maintain the gardens and natural forest.

Boyce Gardens are as varied as they are beautiful. There’s a breathtaking rainforest on the north-eastern corner, a pine forest along Mackenzie Street on the eastern side, plus an avocado orchard and Australian flowering hrubs. On the southern side discover rose gardens, native orchids, camellias and manicured lawns

Boyce Gardens is open 10am-3pm daily, this serene spot hiding in plain sight is definitely worth a visit.
