Newtown Park & Queensland State Rose Garden

Newtown Park is one of Toowoomba’s premier parks covering an area of 30 acres (12ha). The park is popular for reveling in the delights of the gardens, enjoying family activities, and participating in sport or fitness pursuits.

It’s a must-see location with three main feature areas including the award-winning Queensland State Rose Garden, which is in peak bloom starting mid October. The garden is also home to children’s playground and barbecue area, and sports oval with croquet lawns and cricket pitches.

PLEASE NOTE:  the roses are pruned after the last winter frost so they will not be blooming during Toowoomba Carnival of Flowers – visit later in October or November to see the Queensland State Rose Garden in full glorious bloom.
